Theme Change? Post here!
Pinned FeaturedIn general, we can work with almost any theme. The most important thing is that you have a sidebar that's at least 300 pixels wide and doesn't shrink to smaller than that. You'll also want a responsive design that includes a mobile view.
Since theme changes have been known to make ads disappear, we recommend launching a new theme during business hours which are Monday - Friday from 9am - 4pm CST.
Important reminders:
- If your new theme has a sticky sidebar, our script will not be able to place a sticky sidebar ad. You'll need to ‘un-stick’ your sidebar to make sure we can properly target an ad there.
- We recommend a font size between 18-22px and a line height of 1.6-1.8.
- Journey ad placement works best with long-form post content. Because of this - we only place content ads in post templates with long-form post content.
- Right now, Journey only places content ads throughout actual post content since otherwise these ads could break the layout of pages. We also don't currently have an option for manual ad placement, but you'll still have the adhesion banner ad and Universal Video Player able to load on the homepage.
Once you've changed your theme - please comment in this thread with your site URL so we can make sure selectors are correct and recrawl your site if need be!
You can also check out these help articles to assist in the meantime.

Erin - I looked your site over, and on my end I'm not seeing your ad script when I check the page source of your site. Would you mind double checking to make sure your ad script has been installed in your site's <head>. This article gives some direction on how that can be done. Thanks!

Topstoryindia - I'm seeing ads load across your site on my end, but let us know if there's a particular post/area you'd like us to give attention to and we'll be happy to take a look and weigh in!

Hello,
I have recently moved to Journey. Ads are showing fixed to the footer, but not within the content.
I have read that the script targets specific selectors, but there are no lists of these selectors. Would you be able to let me know what class my content blocks should be wrapped in?
My site: https://discoverleeds.co.uk/Thanks

Hey Robert Marshall - Your in-content ads have been targeted and are good to go on your article pages. Instead of there being a list of selectors that are needed for content ad placements, the important thing is that your content area has a unique selector, and that your content elements are direct children of that unique selector. Let us know if you make any changes to your site in the future and we'll be happy to take another look and make any needed recommendations!

Thanks for the response. I also need them running in the things-to-see-and-do/food-and-drink/ sub pages, and the things-to-see-and-do/outdoors/ sub pages. As these make up most of my content.

Hello Journey Team,
We need help with ads on our site, Repixify.com. We are updating our tools to a new theme and have added the code, but several ad types are missing. Eventually, all our tools will look like our new theme.
Here is an example of the new theme: https://www.repixify.com/tools/gamertag-generator And an example of the old theme: https://www.repixify.com/tools/ai-insult-generator
These are the issues we are facing:
First, we are missing sidebar ads. Our new theme has sidebars on both sides of our tool and we added the code, but no ads are showing up. You can see this on pages like https://www.repixify.com/tools/pony-name-generator.
Second, we have no in-content ads on our entire site. This is a problem on both desktop and mobile for old and new themes.
Third, we have issues with ads in our tool output areas. To clarify, we only have four types of tool outputs. On desktop, some get ads and some don't. For example, ads are working on https://www.repixify.com/tools/pony-name-generator and https://www.repixify.com/tools/quirk-generator. But ads are not working on https://www.repixify.com/tools/riddle-generator and https://www.repixify.com/tools/ai-answer-generator. We need ads on those outputs too. On mobile, none of our tool outputs get any ads at all.
Please review our site and help us enable the sidebar ads, in-content ads, and fix the tool output ads, especially for mobile. We use Next.js, so you can tell us if we need to change our structure, add some IDs, or tweak CSS to get the best ad performance and improve our revenue.
Thank you for your help!

Elle - your ads are good to go on your new theme!

repixify - after a recrawl I'm now seeing ads in your content area, but it looks like your posts have a full-width content area and don't have a sidebar container, so sidebar ads can't be targeted. If you'd like to display sidebar ads you'll need to add a sidebar container next to your content area, and it will need a unique HTML selector so that our script can target a sidebar ad. Let us know when a sidebar container has been added and we'll be happy to take another look!

Hey Robert Marshall - In order for ads to be placed on those pages, you'll need to add a unique HTML selector that will allow our script to identify the content area. This article goes into more detail on why unique class names for your content area are needed for optimal ad placements. Let us know if adjustments are made to the HTML markup of those pages and we'll be happy to take a look and re-crawl them once in-content ads are able to be palced there

Hello Team Journey, Thanks for your response. I can now see ads in content, but our major revenue source are sidebar ads and output ads, which are still not visible. I want to show ads on both side of my tool, for that i have added a side bar with the "id="journey-sidebar-ads". Can you please add our sidebar ads here? It is effecting our revenue, as this is tools site and most user spend more time seeing this area only. Also i have question about, like i have kept this sidebar div hidden on mobile, but if i keep it non hidden will i be able to get ads here in mobile also? Please help me out with ads placement, it will be a big relief for me if you can help me to sort this out. Url of the tool: https://www.repixify.com/tools/gamertag-generator

hi, i just changed my theme of boatsgeek.com. can you please recrawl the ads script? thanks
0 -
repixify - The Journey script won't target multiple sidebar ads on a post, so you won't get sidebar ads on both sides of the page. That said, sidebar ads are now showing on https://www.repixify.com/tools/gamertag-generator in the container that you mentioned, so you're now running all available ad units on that page type.

Hello,
Apparently, my site, https://englishintake.com, is missing in-content ads. Here is an example page https://englishintake.com/learn-english/lesson-paired-conjunctions/. It is a custom html template, which I can customise as needed. Could you please check it?
Thank you

Hey, I have recently changed my theme to Twenty Twenty Five and custom-built my website https://colorfool.org! I have added a sidebar and many more changes to my pages, and it looks beautiful now. Please update the ads to show in my sidebar and all the other pages. Also, I have an average RPM of only $5, so I want to make that better too. Give me your recommendations!

Roger Ianjamasimanana I'm seeing in-content ads on the post you linked, so you're all set! Let us know if you still notice any pages that are missing in-content ads and we'll be happy to take a look.

Vandana Vishwakarma - I looked over your site, but on my end I'm not seeing a sidebar on the pages I checked. Would you mind double checking to make sure your caches have been fully cleared, and then provide an example link to a page that you've added a sidebar to?
Also, for tips on ad performance you can feel free to refer to this article for helpful tips, and check out the performance section of the forum for even more advice!

Thanks so much, folks! Journey has finished rescraping your sites

I recently made several UI and design updates to my website gecdesigns.com to improve user experience and content presentation. Since these changes impact layout and ad placements, I’d like to request a fresh recrawl of my site to ensure that ads are being displayed in the most optimal locations. Thank you!

Rajarajachozhan - rescraping your site only needs to happen in instances where the underlying HTML of a site has been changed in a way that causes ads to go missing. The Journey script automatically optimizes ad placements in situations where adjustments to the layout or design of a theme has changed, but the underlying HTML hasn't changed.
In your case, I'm seeing all ads load in as expected, so no further adjustments are needed.
Thanks!0 -
Hi,
I changed the theme for my website, casebx.com, and now no longer see in-content ads. Please could you re-crawl?
Thanks,

Thanks for checking! However, we have noticed an issue on some pages where we recently added a sidebar — the ads are overlapping with the footer content. This is affecting the layout and user experience, especially on longer pages.
It seems that the recent changes we made are impacting the layout and ad placements. I would like to request a fresh re-crawl of our site to ensure that ads are displayed in the most optimal locations.

Rajarajachozhan I've made a quick adjustment to help with this - thanks!
