For anyone else who runs into the conflicting ad code message, here's an in-depth help article that goes over how to remove conflicting ad code from your site and where you typically can find the conflicting code. Please read over all of the troubleshooting steps and if you need assistance or can't find the code, reach out to your host or developer for assistance.

Hi Rabia! I'm seeing an AdSense script in the <head> area of your site and in a widget in your sidebar that's labeled “Ad”.  This is the script in the head:

    <script data-ad-client="ca-pub-4436851060693975" async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>

And I'm seeing this script in the widget:

Those will need to be removed and then you'll need to clear all caching (plugin, server side, and CDN). Then you should be able to proceed with the ads.txt file and finish onboarding.

    Hi,

I submitted a similar ticket. I disconnected Adsense via SiteKit but I'm still running into that error. Can you please also share with me where you're seeing the script? I went through all my pages to remove the code but I don't know where else to remove it.

    Thank you,

    Emma

Hi Emmalynn Ellendt ! I still see the Adsense being inserted through Site Kit on your site. I would doublecheck to make sure it's fully disabled in Site Kit, and then I would be sure to clear out all caching plugins, have your host clear your server side cache, and clear your CDN cache if you use one (like Cloudflare).

I am writing to seek your assistance regarding an issue I am experiencing while attempting to implement the Journey ad script on my website. Despite following the required steps, I am receiving the following message:

"We found conflicting ad code running on your site. Launching ads with Journey requires you to remove code from any previous programmatic ad partners. If you are bound by an agreement with another ad provider, stop here. See this Help article for more information on exclusivity requirements."

I have disconnected the google ads through site kit and adsense and cleared the browser cache aswell. please advise what else I can do

    Thanks for your help

Hey JORDEN - I took a look and I'm not seeing any conflicting script now that you've cleared your cache. It looks like all you have left to do now is set up Tipalti!

Hi there, I successfully instsalled ads txt on my site, which has been running for a month. I now have a message telling me to refresh it, but when I do, I get a message saying the file isn't recognised. Any ideas?

Hi there - thanks for the reply - although you've now closed the ticket without waiting for me to reply! You told me to do what I've already done but it stil isn't working. I already tried reinstalling it - it doens't work, and refreshing doesn't work. Please let me know where the file is 'i'm suppoed to ‘grab the from your publisher portal and add it to the site’ so I can do this? Or the URL? I would rather not contact my host…

Hi Ellie. Your can find both a link to the updated ads.txt and a downloadable copy in your Journey settings. They're in the Ads.txt section immediately below the banner the you shared a screenshot of in the post above. Since the ads.txt file was manually added to your site, you'll need to replace the existing file with the current one and then clear all the caching. You can refer to these instructions for the process and can reference this thread for further troubleshooting if needed. Thanks!

HI John, thanks for explaining. however I have tried to do this several times… it doesn't work. I did replace it and cleared the cache. I tried that several times. contacting you was my last resort! I have read all the troubleshooting…

Ellie Seymour Your ads.txt file on the site is version # Ads.txt v20241021 (from 10/21/2024) and the newest version is # Ads.txt v20241024 (from 10/24/2024), so you'll need to download the newest version of the ads.txt file, replace the ads.txt file on your site with the new one, clear all caching, and then this issue should clear up.

Another option would be adding a redirect to our servers so you don't have to manually update the ads.txt file any time there's an update moving forward -- you can read instructions on how to do that here and your host would be able to assist with this.

    Thanks!

Hi, I submitted a similar ticket. I believe I have commented out all adsense code in the template file.
But now the error that I am getting is - We can’t seem to find your ads script. Check our FAQ for troubleshooting options.

When I add the following to Blogspot,
    <script type="text/javascript" async="async" data-noptimize="1" data-cfasync="false" src="//scripts.scriptwrapper.com/tags/7cc0cf6e-4f4b-4ed6-825f-d9dbd6658697.js"></script>

It is changing it to this
    <script type="text/javascript" async="async" data-noptimize="1" data-cfasync="false" src="//scripts.scriptwrapper.com/tags/7cc0cf6e-4f4b-4ed6-825f-d9dbd6658697.js"/>

    How do I fix this?
    Many thanks.

Deeptha Doshi You need to fully remove the code instead of just commenting it out and make sure there's no instances of adsby, which is the code we look for, in the site's source code. Thanks!

Thank you Rachel. I have removed it and cleared the cache and checked.

But I am getting the same error.

Deeptha Doshi there's still AdSense code in your source code. If you check the site's source code following the steps in this article – search for adsby and you'll see the AdSense code. Once it's removed and caches are cleared, you should be able to finish onboarding.

Thanks, Rachel. I check the souce code and I can spot the adsense code as you said.

However, when I search in the theme souce file, that bit of code is  missing. I also checked the layout blocks but can't find any adsense code.

If anyone else has encountered the same and could guide me in the right direction, that will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi there, I am having the same issue on Blogger. When I check the HTML inside blogger I can't find the code but LIVE on my site I can see it on my source code. This one: ins.adsbygoogle-noablate[data-anchor-shown="true"]{z-index:990!important}

How can I remove it if I can only see it on my live site?

Ok I managed to remove it, it was the consent cookie. But now when I go back to try and click ‘I’ve enabled the script' still shows me it's finding the script. I double checked it's not showing anymore. should I be waiting a while? thanks!

Journey is Self Supported

Our support staff is monitoring this forum everyday for bugs related to ad delivery, the display and functionality of the Journey dashboard, and any bugs related to the onboarding process. We are typically unable to assist with non-bug related issues like RPM performance expectations, issues setting up the ads.txt file, and questions already answered by our existing help docs. Read here for a more detailed breakdown of how Journey is self-supported and our recommendations for how to find answers to common issues.
