Getting set up to receive payments is quick and easy!
Once you’ve completed your Journey ads set up, you will be prompted to fill out payment details.
Set up a payment profile.
Payment profiles make it easy to reuse a payment method for more than one site. If this is your first site on Journey, you will need to select Create New Payee Profile.
Click Save Profile to move onto the next step.
It may be helpful to have your bank documents with you at this stage. In this first screen you’ll need to enter the following:

Type: Individual or Company — choose the option that matches how you file your taxes.
- If you file taxes using a Social Security Number (SSN), you need to select Individual.
- If you file taxes using an Employer Identification Number (EIN), you’ll select Company.
- If you do not reside in the US and / or are not obligated to file taxes in the US, select the option that most closely aligns with the structure of your business.
- Email address — This is the address that payment notifications and emails will be sent to. Be sure to select an email address that you have access to and check often. For US publishers, this is also where your 1099 will be sent. Please keep this email up to date!
- Phone number
- First name
- Middle name
- Last name
- Company (if Company was selected)

Address - THIS MUST BE YOUR CURRENT PHYSICAL ADDRESS. Tipalti uses a verification system that will match the information you enter here with the tax documents that are required.
- City
- ZIP
- Country
- State (if United States is selected for the Country)
Select your payment method and add your bank account information.
You will be able to choose from any of the following payment methods:
- PayPal
- Domestic ACH ( Direct Deposit)
- International ACH ( eCheck)
- U.S. wire transfer
- International wire transfer

Select your tax form.
You will be prompted to fill out a tax form based on your country of residency. You can choose between the U.S. Person and Non-U.S. Person.
If you need help with the forms, please consult with a qualified tax advisor or attorney to receive advice for your particular needs.
United States
If you are obligated to pay taxes in the United States (see definitions on the IRS site) select "U.S. Person" to electronically submit a W-9 form.
NOTE: Street number is the house number, and Street is the name of the street. For example, if your address is 123 Main Street, 123 would be the street number and Main Street would be the street. (We are aware of a bug that puts the street number after the street name if you edit your W9. Don’t worry — your information IS stored correctly.)
Non-U.S.
If you are not obligated to pay taxes in the United States (see definitions on the IRS site), select Non-U.S. Person. You will fill out a form certifying that you do not conduct business activities in the United States.
