Hey Julie Gaeta - Thanks for reaching out! Since you're switching to a new platform, Journey just needed a little time to recognize the changes to your site. I've just checked things over on my end, and I'm seeing that we recently rescraped your site. If you're still not seeing ads, please let us know!

    Hi Journey Support Team,

I’ve been using Mediavine ads with the standard script placed in the <head> section of my website, and everything was working perfectly on my old site setup. In-content ads used to appear naturally throughout my blog posts — between headings, after images, etc.

However, after updating my website last month, I’ve noticed that in-content ads are no longer displaying. Now, I only see a sticky footer ad and a video player ad — nothing shows up within the body of the blog posts.

Here’s a sample blog post for reference:

Could you please take a look and help me understand what might be causing the in-content ads to stop showing?

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Malik,

I had the script recrawl your site and your in-content ads are now targeted.

While I was on your site I also noticed that you have Adsense ads running alongside your Journey ads. Journey requires exclusivity, which you can read more about here, so the Adsense code needs to be removed as soon as possible to avoid issues with your Journey standing.

Thanks for resolving the in-content ads on my blog posts — they’re now working perfectly!

However, on my homepage, I’m only seeing the sticky footer ad and video ad — nothing in the main content. With Google AdSense, I used to get ads in the hero section, inbox area, and throughout the homepage content, which really boosted impressions and revenue.

I still have AdSense active for now, but if Journey can optimize similar ad placements on the homepage, I’ll be happy to remove AdSense and go fully exclusive.

    Is homepage ad optimization possible?

    Thanks so much!

Hi Malik - thanks for following up! Journey currently limits the type of ads that can display on the homepage. We have a thread with a little more information here.

    Hello Support Team!

I'm new to Journey. I'm having the same issue - no ads showing in my post content but do have ads showing in the sidebar and footer. I am using Squarespace.

    I appreciate your help.

Vanessa Stewart It looks like the way that Squarespace is nesting the HTML of your ‘post content’ is stopping Journey from placing in-content ads on your site. I've forced a rescrape of your posts to to see if Journey is able to find a better way of placing ads. This should only take a few minutes, so let us know if you continue to have issues.

Hello! I'm having a similar issue where I don’t have ads showing in my blog post content, but I do have ads showing in the sidebar on desktop and footer.

I also have a separate account with this email, but Journey made me create a new one to post this issue. My site is selflovediaries.com.

    Thank you!

Hi shania — I'm seeing a content hint placed on your post, which is overriding the Journey script's ad placements. You'll want to remove this in order for Journey to place ads on your posts. I've included a screenshot below of HTML I'm seeing on this post

Hello! I put the hint in a couple blog posts to try to troubleshoot. But now I’m seeing that in content ads are on all my posts, so thanks for your help!! I’ll be sure to take those hints out of the ones I put it in now too.

Journey is Self Supported

Our support staff is monitoring this forum everyday for bugs related to ad delivery, the display and functionality of the Journey dashboard, and any bugs related to the onboarding process. We are typically unable to assist with non-bug related issues like RPM performance expectations, issues setting up the ads.txt file, and questions already answered by our existing help docs. Read here for a more detailed breakdown of how Journey is self-supported and our recommendations for how to find answers to common issues.
