Follow-up on Journey Errors and Potential RPM Impact
Hi Mediavine Support,
I wanted to reach out regarding a noticeable drop in my RPM over the past few weeks, which seems to have started around the same time I began seeing errors in my Journey dashboard related to the Privacy Policy, ads.txt, and ad script verification.
Before these issues, my RPM was consistently around $10, but during the time these errors were present, my RPM dropped to around $6. Now that all the errors are resolved, I’m wondering if those verification failures could have led to a reduction in advertiser demand or lower bids from certain partners.
Could you please check if any demand partners had reduced bidding or excluded my site due to these verification issues? Also, if there’s anything else I should do to help restore full demand, I’d really appreciate your guidance.
Thanks so much for your support — looking forward to hearing back!
Best regards

Hey Mo - When I go to check your site I was hit with what looks like a Cloudflare Bot Checker.

On occasion, this can prevent advertisers from scanning your site. Was this recently installed around the same time you noticed that drop?

Hi,
Thanks for the clarification. Yes, I installed Cloudflare security recently due to huge bot hits, and started to see the RPM drop to start since I set it up; along with those other errors like ads.txt I mentioned now solved.
I could set up some rules to skip this verification for the advertisers if you could tell me their source (E.g. I skiped these ruls for MediavineMetadataParser with a custom Cloudflare rule). Or how else can we solve this? Thanks for your help!

Hi Mo One thing you can do is add your ads.txt file to a whitelist for your Cloudflare firewall. That should help advertisers see your file.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion. I have whitelisted https://w**p.com/ads.txt and it now loads without the bot verification challenge.
Is that all I need to do, or do you have any other technical suggestions?0 -
Hi Mo that should do it! It may take some time for thing to take affect, but you should keep an eye on your analytics to make sure things are improving.

Hi,
Following up on this after a month. I still didn't see a bit of improvement on my RPM despite your suggestions. It's been a month since I whitelisted my ads.txt page, but the RPM is never going back to where it was, before this issue. On the worst day, I used to have at least a RPM of $10, which now never even exceeds $6.50!
I would appreciate your suggestions/ recommendations on this.
