ads.txt not working
The Grow plugin has never worked for me with Journey, so I have always added the ads.txt manually. Every once in a while I get the alert that it is outdated and I need to update it. No problem.
I got that message today, went into my host, deleted the current ads.txt file, and uploaded the one on my dashboard. However, no matter how many times or ways I have attempted to do this, I still keep getting the same error message: We are unable to verify the ads.txt file.
I even tried to download the plugin again, and it still doesn't give me any Journey options.
Please help so I can get this fixed sooner rather than later. Thank you so much.

To add more information, I also just added a redirect within my host so I shouldn't have to worry about the file updating in the future (in theory!)….still having the same error message, though.

I am facing the same issue.
I did everything from manually uploading ads.txt to root; I also tried the troubleshooting options and redirecting my domain.com/ads.txt to the URL given in the Grow dashboard.

Hey Rudi Nor & Jenn Breisacher - You may need to reach out to your host to check and see if there are any host-level firewalls set up that block certain bots from crawling the site, and if there are, request that those blocks be removed.

Hi Mary. I tried that. I followed all their instructions and still nothing.

Jenn Breisacher Just to double check - your host verified there wasn't a host-level firewall or any security settings contending with the ads.txt?

No problem with security or firewall. Ads.txt has never been an issue before this.

Correct, but it just started working again! Must have just been some type of glitch, thank goodness. Thanks for your help!

I'm having the same issue. I've just spent over five hours trying to fix this. I also contacted the hosting provider (hostinger) and sent them the instructions. They flushed the cache and manually added the ads.txt file several times, but it's still not working. Could someone please help out with this?

Hi Rudi Nor and Katja ! We're seeing the files as up to date on your sites. To avoid this in the future, we recommend adding a redirect to our servers so you don't have to manually update the ads.txt file each time there's an update, and you can read instructions on how to do that here. Your host should be able to easily set this up for you. Thanks!
