Ads gone after theme/design update
CompletedHi there,
I'm having a problem since updating my theme from Generatepress to Kadence.
When my site was accepted into Journey, I had been preparing a theme update to Kadence using a staging Wordpress site. Therefore, my first week with Journey was on my OLD site.
Since I deployed the staging site (same content throughout, different theme - no other changes), there have been no ads in the body of my content and my revenue/RPM is almost half today versus yesterday.
I've checked that I still have an exception for ‘scriptwrapper’ in WP Rocket, everything seems to be connected in Grow, and when I ‘Inspect Element’ on my most popular page using an incognito window, or alternative browser, I'm seeing only the bottom banner ad, but no ads in the body of the blog.
Can you make any suggestions to get me up and running again, please?
Thanks,
Patrick

Hi Patrick Hughes ! When you change themes, it's likely the script will have to retarget ads since the underlying HTML changes and we use a specific class within the HTML to target content ads. Typically it does this within 24 hours. If you still don't see correct placements after 24 hours though, feel free to reach out here and we can have it manually re-crawl the site.
Thanks!

Thanks, Rachel, you're a star - thanks for recrawling - that's worked like a dream.

Hello Support, Even after you had the script re-crawl my site, I still see ads just on the recipe card and not inside the post content. I have long post content and not even one single ads is showing inside. My ad density settings is high. I didn't change the theme. I just deleted a plugin that could be the issue and deleted the site cache but it is still not fixed. Please check this issue for me. The ads were showing fine last week. I appreciate your help.
Thank You.

Youssef Chahid it looks like deleting the plugin resulted in the HTML changing again, so we had to have the script recrawl the site again.
When you change themes or make changes that will impact the HTML (like this plugin seemed to do), it's likely the script will have to retarget ads since the underlying HTML changes and we use a specific class within the HTML to target content ads. I had the script re-crawl your site though, so you should be seeing ads now.

Hello, I just came to know about sticky sidebar ads and universal player ad in journey. I thought it was limited to MV sites only and i never saw this on any of my sites. Can you please check all my sites on this profile and reconfigure the ads?
Thanks in advance.0 -
Hi Richa Kumari Kedia! The Universal Player is enabled by default, and I just checked your sites and the sticky sidebar ad is working on all of them as well. I'm seeing both units on all the sites, so you should be all set. Thanks!!

Hi, Journey Support Team! I had a site update done yesterday, and it doesn't seem like recrawling/retargeting has happened yet, as in-content and sidebar ads are missing. Can someone assist with this, please?
