No ads showing in sidebar
Hi,
I've just added a sidebar to my site, but I'm not currently seeing the sidebar ad being placed.
The sidebar has a generic .sidebar class, and I was able to add the Grow recommended posts widget with no issues.
Could you please take a look and see what's wrong?

Hey Amelia Sandy - Thanks for letting us know! I've made an adjustment on our end to account for your sidebar. Please take a look and let us know if everything looks good!

Hi Support , could you do the same for my sites too please? Thanks!

Hey Ryan,
Thanks for taking a look for me. All looking good now!

Hi Alan Walsh. You should be all set as well. Thanks!!

Hi, I'm also new here, at the start, I could see an ad on the sidebar but now it doesn't populate. I'm using Elementor. Could you take a look at my website? Thanks a lot. Recommended posts would also be great to show on the sidebar.

Joao Petersen You should be seeing that sidebar ad and recommended posts widget now!

Thanks a lot, it's working now. Can the Journey sidebar renew itself every x amount of scrolls so it doesn't lock on the ad and people see the recommended posts more times along the post?
And I see in some Categories like Switzerland's articles it's not showing ads on the normal posts area. Those are some of my highest-seen articles, and it would be nice to have ads there. Thank you!

Hi Joao Petersen ! Glad to hear that! There's not a way to adjust ad refreshes - the ad refreshes based on the ad auction. There also isn't a setting in Journey currently for the recommended posts to show multiple times.
For your Switzerland articles, it looks like the issue is that the site uses the Elementor page builder and there are several different templates, which makes it difficult for our script to target ads consistently. Journey ultimately isn't compatible with page builders, but if you build all of your posts the exact same way using the same template as posts that are currently getting ads, you should see ads start populating on all posts. You can read more about how page builders work with Journey in this post and this help article.

Hello,
I was onboarded a few days ago and there seems to be a problem with the sidebar ad. Initially, I disabled the sticky sidebar feature in my theme (Soledad by PenciDesign) but the ad did not stick and was not showing when I was scrolling down. I then enabled the feature again as it made the ad appear, but in weird positions, on the right side of the sidebar or on top of the sidebar widgets. Could I please ask you to have a look at it?

Also, on the site (coolcorsica.com) I am using in-theme speed optimization and I am not sure if I managed to successfully exclude the Journey script.
Thank you very much for your help and time,
Karolina

Hi Karolina Skonieczna ! The script isn't being optimizied, so you should be good to go there. For the sidebar, could you please disable the sticky functionality as soon as possible and let us know if you're still seeing display issues? If you are still seeing issues with the sidebar ad, please still leave the sticky setting disabled and let us know so we can take a closer look. Thanks!

Hello Rachel, thank you for this very quick reply. I have disabled the sticky sidebar feature now. I have checked the site in the incognito mode, the ad appears in the sidebar but it doesn't stick. K

I also cannot find the video ad in the bottom corner. The content ads and the adhesion ad do appear. Thank you lots again! K

Hey Karolina Skonieczna - thanks so much! It can take Journey a little time to recognize changes on your site, but I'm seeing that sticky sidebar in place this morning.
Since you've recently launched, advertisers are still ramping up advertising spending on your site. This means that you won't always see all of Journey's ad placements, especially since you spend more time than the average reader on your site. I was able to confirm that the video ad you're referencing is working as expected, so keep an eye out for it over the next few weeks!

Thank you Ryan, I will keep an eye on things, have a good day!

Hey, Rachel or Ryan,
Thanks for helping out with the sidebar question. It's working perfectly now. Regarding the different templates, I've redesigned all the older posts from Switzerland, and Ecuador that were on a different structure and design and are now similar to the newer posts. Do you think it takes time for the script to identify where to put the ads again, or should I deactivate and activate the plugin/script to understand the changes? I can't see ads anywhere apart from the sidebar and on the bottom of the screen. Thanks alot

Hi Joao Petersen ! It does look like the posts are built with a more similar format, so you should be seeing content ads more consistently now. I would just keep in mind moving forward if you don't see ads on a specific post that you'll want to switch it to the exact same template as posts that are getting ads. Thanks!

I'm having this issue too! No ads on the sidebar. Any chance you could check my site for me? Thanks.

Hey Megan H. - it looks like there's a
display: flexCSS style applied to your sidebar, which is incompatible with Journey sidebar ads:
To make this compatible, your sidebar needs to have a
display:blockCSS style applied to it. One method to accomplish this could be to add a custom CSS class to your sidebar, then add a line of CSS to your site to overide this flex style. If you have questions about accomplishing this, you may want to connect with Elementor or your host.0 -
Made the update as you said. Would you mind checking on this again for me? Thanks.

Hey Megan H. - it looks like we're still seeing a
flexstyle applied to your sidebar. If you haven't yet, and you need a little assistance, I recommend connecting with Elementor.0 -
Shoot. Well, I'm not willing to mess with that too much since it may impact my site's look/functionality. Hope y'all can upgrade your end to work with flex styles sometime in the future.

Hey Ryan or Rachel,
I'm trying to optimize the amount of ads now and I'm not finding a way to switch the sidebar ad off now. I can do that for the Recommended Grow settings but not for the Ad itself. Can you do it for me or is there a way to stop it on our end? It's messing with my sidebar if I for example want to have a sticky element on my sidebar like for example the travel insurance section it will overlap it.
Thank you!

HI Joao Petersen ! You can block the sidebar ad from loading using blocklist code. Since you're planning on adding a sticky element and this is a display conflict though, I disabled the placement for you. Thanks!
