Setting Up Payoneer or Local Bank for Mediavine Journey Payments in Pakistan
Hi everyone,
I'm in Pakistan and recently got approved by Mediavine Journey. I’m trying to decide between using my Payoneer account or my local bank account for receiving payments. My main concerns are minimizing fees and taxes.
I’ve read that Payoneer could be set up as Direct Deposit/ACH, but I’m unsure how this works with my situation. Also, I have a virtual U.S. bank account linked to Payoneer, but I'm facing issues with filling out the tax information since I'm not a U.S. person.
Could someone clarify which option—Payoneer or local bank—might be the most cost-effective for me? And if Payoneer is the better choice, how should I properly set it up in Tipalti?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Hey Usman,
That’s a great question! The answer really depends. You can set up Payoneer, which will send your payments as USD and then exchange them for your local currency later on. You can also set up a Local Bank Transfer to be paid in your local currency but there is a 2% conversion fee on top of that.Another thing to consider is that Payoneer/Wise has a minimum payout of $100 while a Local Bank Transfer is $200. So it’s really just up to you which is the most cost-effective but also being considerate of your time and convenience.
Here's our help article on how to set up Tipalti Payments in case you need it.0 -
Thanks for the helpful info about Payoneer and Local Bank Transfers. I’m currently setting up my Payoneer account as the payment method for my Mediavine Journey account. My Payoneer is linked to a virtual U.S. bank account, but I’m located in Pakistan.
Given that Payoneer payments are processed as USD and my account is linked to a U.S. bank, should I select "United States" as the payment country in my Journey payment profile? Or should I choose Pakistan since that’s where I’m based?
I want to make sure I set this up correctly to avoid any payment or tax-related issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
