Ads.txt Missing/Out-of-Date
CompletedI get the message “Ads.txt Missing/Out-of-Date”. I see the ads.txt file on my site, not sure how to update…if that is the problem. Don't know how to correct this.

Hi Gloria! You have a lot of extra ads.txt lines in your ads.txt file for other ad providers above the Journey ads.txt file. These extra lines need to be removed for the ads.txt file to show as up to date. You would want to remove everything above the following line in the ads.txt file:
# Ads.txt v20240606
This is the first line of the Journey ads.txt file, so everything above it needs to be removed and your host should be able to help with this if you aren't comfortable editing the file yourself.

You have been a great help, Rachel
Well, I did it myself (much to my surprise). Still shows “missing” but I assume it just takes time for that message to go away? Or did I do something wrong?

Hi Gloria! The ads.txt file looks good to me now and I don't see any “missing” errors in the dashboard, so you should be all set.

I am receiving a similar message. My site is saying the ads.txt file is “out of date.” However, it was installed less than a month ago and nothing has changed with my account here. Ads are displaying correctly. I checked my code and there is nothing above the file like in Gloria's example. Can you suggest a next step, please? Thank you. I am really happy so far with this program and want to keep participating.

Hi Jeanne Grunert - the contents of your site's Ads.txt file are different than the up-to-date version of the file that can be found from the Journey Settings tab in your Grow dashboard.
Updating the contents of this file on your site with the up-to-date version of your Ads.txt file will take care of the error you're seeing.
Additionally, the Journey ads.txt file is constantly updated - another option would be adding a redirect to our servers so you don't have to manually update the ads.txt file any time there's an update, and you can read instructions on how to do that here.
