Once you’ve been notified that you can re-enable Journey ads on your site, the first step is to insert the Journey ad script on your site.
WordPress
If you’re on WordPress, our recommendation is to use the Grow For WordPress plugin to enable the Journey ad script. Once the plugin is installed and activated, make sure you are logged into your WordPress Admin. At that point, you can add this to the end of your domain in your browser’s address bar: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=grow-journey-enable
For instance, the url would look like this: https://{{domain}}.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=grow-journey-enable
Enabling Journey at that url will re-insert the ad script and set up an ads.txt redirect on your site. With this completed, you’d need to clear the cache from any caching plugin you may have installed(brief instructions below). If you encounter any issues with this or if you don’t want to use the Grow For WordPress plugin, then you can install the script and ads.txt manually.
Manual
To retrieve the script tag to install manually on your site, you can go to the Journey Settings in your dashboard and navigate toward the bottom for the Ads Script section. From there you can copy the code and follow the appropriate steps to re-insert the ad script on your site.
If you’re on WordPress then you can use a dedicated plugin for inserting scripts in the <head> element of your site. However if you’re not on WordPress, then you can reference our help article on installing the ad script on non-WordPress sites.
Next you would need to get the ads.txt file added back to your site or apply a redirect to the ads.txt file on our server. To download the ads.txt file or retrieve the url on our server, it can also be found near the bottom of the Journey Settings.
We have help articles for setting up ads.txt on Blogger, Squarespace, and Shopify. However, if you’re on a custom site or a WordPress site where you need to install the ads.txt manually, we’d recommend reaching out to your host to see if they can add the downloaded ads.txt file contents to the root domain of your site or set up a redirect to the ads.txt url on our server.
Clear Cache
Once you’ve installed the script, clear out your cache one by one in each of the areas below:
Caching Plugin - If you have a caching plugin installed, be sure to clear/purge your site’s cache within the plugin.
CDN - If you are using a CDN such as Cloudflare, be sure to clear the cache here as well.
Server-level caching - You should also reach out to your host to clear out any server-level caching
Once that is complete try navigating back to your Grow Publishers Portal to check again and see if the script is detected.
