If you are interested in serving Journey ads by Mediavine, you’ll first need to install Grow on your site. Grow is a tool that will not only help you to grow your website and continue to build your audience, but will also help us to gather details about your traffic that we will use to evaluate your site.
Other basic requirements include
- Original content that is brand safe
- An engaged audience (You can learn more about what audience engagement metrics are important here)
- Content that is frequently updated
- Enough premium traffic to offset any non-premium traffic
- Websites changing ownership must re-apply. This also applies to current publishers.
Evaluation for approval is not just about meeting the minimums, but rather how all the data ties together, and what story it tells about your audience and site.
We are looking for original, engaging content.
Well-written, well-organized content that is original and belongs to the site owner is required. Original photography or licensed stock photos are great additions. We DO check for proper attribution and permissions for images.
Verified Traffic.
Creating regularly updated and engaging content is not all we are looking for. Advertisers are looking to spend on actual human readers that are visiting your site. We will verify during the evaluation process (and will continue to verify after onboarding) that traffic is real and not purchased, artificial, or bot traffic.
Brand safety matters.
Advertisers are understandably vigilant about their brands running alongside appropriate content, not material that could tarnish their image. We vet all sites to make sure their content is brand safe. If the goal is to monetize your content with display and video ads, adhering to brand safety standards is incredibly important.
