Low RPMs & Missing Ads – Request for Recrawl
Hi Mediavine Team,
It’s been 9 days since my site launched on Journey, and RPMs are very low. Ad impressions compared to sessions/pageviews are unusually low.
Currently, only the sticky footer ad shows. Sidebar, sticky sidebar, and in-content ads are missing on my tool pages, and the sidebar ad is also missing on article pages. These pages have 70+ paragraphs of content and a 330px sidebar.
I’ve added mv-sidebar classes, ensured proper sidebar styles, set parent containers’ overflow to visible, and wrapped content in journey-content divs for optimal ad placement.

Could you please recrawl these pages and re-target the sidebar and in-content ads from your end? Let me know if any further adjustments are needed on my side.
Thank you.

We have recrawled your site for in-content ads, but sidebar ads are not compatible when you have sticky sidebar elements.
There are nested divs in the blog post sidebar elements that would prevent sidebar ads from being targeted correctly and the sticky tools menu prevents sidebar ads from being targeted on your tools pages. The sidebars are also not the same, so sidebar ads could not be targeted to both page types.

Thank you for the detailed feedback!
I’ve fully restructured both the tool pages and blog pages to address all three issues you highlighted:
- Sticky Sidebar Elements Fixed:
Removed all sticky positioning from both tool and blog sidebars
Sidebars now use static positioning for proper ad targeting - Nested Divs in Blog Sidebar Fixed:
Flattened the DOM structure
Applied themv-sidebarclass directly to the outermost sidebar element
Removed all wrapper divs that were interfering with ad insertion - Consistent Sidebar Structure Fixed:
Unified sidebar structure across both page types
Tool and blog pages now use an identical flex layout with the sidebar as a sibling to the main content
Samemv-sidebarimplementation and inline styles (position: relative, overflow: visible) applied across all pages - Journey Content Wrapper Expansion:
Previously, thejourney-contentclass was limited to blog sections on tool pages
It now wraps the entire page from the outermost level, including the hero section, tool widgets, use cases, code blocks, FAQs, and all written content
This ensures the entire page, not just blog sections, is available for Mediavine Journey in content ad placements
These updates have been applied to all tool pages and blog posts. Both now follow the same layout pattern, allowing consistent sidebar targeting and maximizing ad placement opportunities across the site
Could you please initiate a recrawl? The structure should now be fully aligned with Mediavine Journey requirements. Let me know if you need anything else
Thank you!
