Getting Started With Journeymv - Showing Ads
CompletedHello,
My site was approved for ads yesterday, and I successfully set up the system to show ads.
Website: https://softopaz.com
However, I have a few questions:
-
Ad Placement on Specific Directory
I only want to show ads on posts within the/giveaway/directory. To achieve this, I manually installed the Journey and Grow scripts.
Right now, the default Grow ad is appearing in two sections: the sidebar and an Anchor, “Want fewer ads like this one? Get Grow Today.”
Is this behaviour normal? When can I expect other companies' Ads, like Google Adsense, to show up? Also, I don’t see “in-article ads”—is there a reason for this?
-
Sidebar Ad Control
Can I control where the sidebar Ad appears on my site? I’ve explored all the settings but haven't found any options to specify where it should be shown or stop showing.
-
Critical Error with Grow Plugin
I submitted a support ticket regarding a critical error with the Grow for WordPress plugin. This issue needs attention as soon as possible, but I haven’t received a response yet. Could you advise on the next steps?
-
Ad Display on Specific Pages
When I install the Grow for WordPress plugin, ads appear across the entire site. Is there a way to exclude certain pages/directories, such as the homepage, or limit ad display to posts within a specific directory?
Looking forward to your guidance!
Best,
Nirmitha.

Hi Nirmitha W -
Ad Placement
I had the script recrawl your site and you should see more ads in the content now on the giveaway directory.Sidebar Ad Control
You could use blocklist code for the sidebar ad on specific pages/posts to block the sidebar ad. Also, you'll want to disable the sticky functionality of your sidebar wherever you do want the ad to load, because currently the sidebar ad is displaying over it.Critical Error with Grow Plugin
I recommend writing into grow@mediavine.com for assistance. If it's causing issues with the site or preventing functionality on the site from working, then in the meantime, you can disable the Grow plugin and manually install the ad script following these instructions, the ads.txt file following these instructions, and the Grow script following these instructions.
Ad Display on Specific Pages
Specific ads can be blocked on specific pages with blocklist code. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response, Rachel.
Is there any option available to show the Sticky Sidebar Ad inside the div that we wanted? If you check this post, you get the idea.
As you see, we have our own sticky TOC. I need to show the Ad just after the Sticky TOC. If you have any script or <div> that generates the Sticky Sidebar Ad, I can add it to my existing widget. Then the Ad will be shown much nicer way.
Thanks!

Nirmitha W The sidebar ad will only be placed on static sidebars, so we wouldn't be able to place it there unless the sidebar was unstuck and there isn't a manual placement option.
Thanks!

Thank you.
Another question.
Do you have any IP range that needs to be whitelisted?

We don't typically have an IP range, but you should exclude MediavineMetadataParser if you can.

Hello, again.
We have to install “two JS” codes to show Ads on our site.
Since we have LiteSpeed Cache plugin, it defers all the JS file on the site.01) Do I need to exclude “Journey & Grow Scripts”?, Or, can I allow LSCWP to optimize them?
02) If I defer, will my revenue be lower?
I can force LSCWP not to optimize the scripts using [data-no-defer="1"] attribute.
<script type="text/javascript" async="async" data-no-defer="1" data-cfasync="false" src="//scripts.scriptwrapper.com/tags/60e43a18-62adc908514d-b0d2.js"></script><script data-grow-initializer="" data-no-defer="1">!(function(){window.growMe||((window.growMe=function(e){window.growMe._.push(e);}),(window.growMe._=[]));var e=document.createElement("script");(e.type="text/javascript"),(e.src="https://faves.grow.me/main.js"),(e.defer=!0),e.setAttribute("data-grow-faves-site-id","jBkMi02MmFkYzkwODUxNGQ=");var t=document.getElementsByTagName("script")[0];t.parentNode.insertBefore(e,t);})();</script>Like that.

Nirmitha W For the best ad performance and to avoid any potential conflicts, you'll want to make sure both scripts are excluded from any JS optimization in LiteSpeed or any other optimization plugin. The scripts are already optimized for page speed and ad performance, which you can read more about here.
Thanks!
