Is there a metric that hints at potential?

There's always a bit of a “ramp-up” period (click here to learn more) whenever you join a new ad management company. It can take some time for our advertisers to learn about your site and how they want to spend on it. The "ramp-up" period is pretty diverse depending on a ton of different factors and varies from site to site so there isn't a specific amount of time but 10 days is definitely still in the thick of things ramp-up-wise.

The start of Q1/January is also going to have a heavy hand in earnings. We made a post about that here.

I wouldn't really say there is one particular metric to focus on over another but I will say that RPM isn't the rate that you earn - Impressions and CPM have far more sway on how much you earn at the end of the day.

Your CPMs are based on a few different things, like keywords used within the post, demographics of users reading them, countries they’re browsing from, device types, traffic sources, and the engagement of your readers. CPMs are a bit harder to control but they are an important number to keep an eye on.

The next best thing to do is to make sure there aren't any conflicts with your Journey script and that your posts are as optimized as possible

Journey is Self Supported

Our support staff is monitoring this forum everyday for bugs related to ad delivery, the display and functionality of the Journey dashboard, and any bugs related to the onboarding process. We are typically unable to assist with non-bug related issues like RPM performance expectations, issues setting up the ads.txt file, and questions already answered by our existing help docs. Read here for a more detailed breakdown of how Journey is self-supported and our recommendations for how to find answers to common issues.
