Transferring a Website Accepted by Journey
I recently submitted a website to Journey by Mediavine, and I’m happy to report that the submission was accepted. However, I haven’t yet completed the setup process for displaying ads. Now, I’m in the process of selling the site to a new owner and am unsure of the steps required to transfer the account or reapply with Journey. Here are some specific questions I’d appreciate some guidance on:
-
Should the entire Journey account be transferred to the new owner, or does the new owner need to resubmit the website again?
Since the site has already been accepted, but the ad setup hasn't been completed yet, it's unclear whether the new owner will need to go through the entire submission process again or if it’s possible to transfer the site within the existing Journey account. -
What is the best way to handle account ownership transfer for Journey?
Is there a specific process for transferring ownership of the website while keeping the approval and any progress intact? This would be especially helpful to know so the new owner doesn't lose the benefit of having the site already accepted by Journey. -
How can I contact Journey’s support to inform them of the transfer?
I’ve been trying to reach Journey support for clarification but haven’t found a direct contact method. If there’s a more efficient way to reach out—whether through the Help Center or Community Forum—any guidance would be appreciated.
Again, the website has been accepted into the Journey program, but ads have not been set up yet, so no revenue is being generated at this time.
Any advice on the steps to ensure a smooth transition would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hey Shili Mohamed - We've been working on a site sale process so I apologize for the delay. We'll be working on a help article on the process here in the near future.
If you've already completed the site sale, please email help@journeymv.com so we can get into all the details.
Please note help@journeymv.com is for administrative changes and any questions about RPM or performance should still be directed to the community.

Hi Mary,
Thank you for the reply and clarification! I’m hopeful that the upcoming article will address the majority of the community's common questions on this topic.
I haven’t sold the website yet, but I’m interested in understanding the process in advance. From what you mentioned, I assume it would be best to email your team at help@journeymv.com before selling the site. Is that correct?
Additionally, I have a slightly unrelated question. I submitted two websites to Journey, both with varying traffic sources. The first site, with a majority U.S. audience, was approved in just over a month. However, the second site, which primarily attracts U.K. traffic, has been in the review process for over 50 days. Is this typical?
I’m eager to get the site approved, as I’m highly satisfied with the RPM and revenue from my currently approved sites. Thank you again for your guidance!0 -
That is correct! Before you sell the site just shoot an email over to help@journeymv.com and include the URL and details of who the new owner is to let us know.
As for your other question, Journey is a new product that is very much still in beta, so onboarding is on the slower side right now. Here's a great article on content optimization which is a nice place to focus while you wait. We'd also recommend taking a look at our Recommendations and Best Practices for Grow to be sure you have everything set up in a way that will benefit you and help you continue to grow your traffic.
If you let me know the URLs I can take a look to make sure everything is connected and tracking data like it should be.

Hello again Mary,
Thank you for your message. I’m currently still in discussions with the seller regarding the website sale. We anticipate finalizing the process within the next few days, or at most, a few weeks. Once it’s all settled, I’ll be sure to send over the details as you suggested.
Regarding my other website, I’m still waiting for approval. The URL is https://maryberryrecipes.co.uk, and it is linked to my account with this email address.
I look forward to having your help in speeding up the approval process and joining my other sites on this journey!

Hey Shili Mohamed I was coming here to update you that it looks like your site has been accepted! I wish I could take credit for that but I don't really have any sway in that process. lol
But congratulations and welcome to Journey! (Again haha)
