Can I turn off political ads?

Hey Laura Ali - At this time, Journey does not have a way to filter out specific ad categories but I did want to provide some insight into (specifically) political ads!

Since our ads are programmatic, the ad slot will go to whoever bids on the reader so while there is the potential for ads to cover all parties and issues, each reader will see different ads based on their interests and browser history/cookies.

So likely, they'll see political ads that align with their interests.

Readers will more than likely run into them on every site they visit, especially if they're in a battleground state. Most folks understand that advertisements are not an endorsement.

Thanks, Mary.  I do hope you revisit this in the future. I don't visit political sites or click on any political ads, yet when I went to my site at least 75% were political ads. I'll figure out a way to put a disclaimer somewhere but I really think we should at least have the option to opt out of certain types of ads.  Thanks again for your response.

That really should be addressed…..not only political ads, but certain advertisers that you do not showing ads on your site.

Journey is Self Supported

Our support staff is monitoring this forum everyday for bugs related to ad delivery, the display and functionality of the Journey dashboard, and any bugs related to the onboarding process. We are typically unable to assist with non-bug related issues like RPM performance expectations, issues setting up the ads.txt file, and questions already answered by our existing help docs. Read here for a more detailed breakdown of how Journey is self-supported and our recommendations for how to find answers to common issues.
