[ Ads are not displaying ] Setup confirmation

Hello there,

I hope you're having a great day!

Yesterday, after being accepted, I completed the setup, and everything seemed to be working fine. However, today I checked the site and noticed that the previous ad platform was redirecting the ads.txt file again. I found a redirect in the .htaccess file, which I have now removed. The correct ads.txt file for Journey now appears on my site (espartedelviaje.com).

I’ve already gone through several troubleshooting steps, including:

  • Clearing the cache on my server (Cloudways)
  • Clearing the cache on my plugins (Rocket and Perfmatters)
  • Excluding the script wrapper file from those performance plugins

It's possible that I just need to wait for the platform to fully recognize my site, but I wanted to check if everything in the setup looks correct. I read that you can test the setup by using ?test=testAds to see where the ads will be placed, but I’m not seeing anything in incognito mode.

I would really appreciate it if someone could confirm whether the setup is complete from the Journey support side or if anyone in the community has experienced this issue before.

    Hey Diego Bechi - thanks for reaching out! It looks like there's a ' defer appended to the end of the Journey Script when I view the the raw HTML of your site. This is likely why you're not seeing ads. 

    Could I have you double-check how you're implementing the Journey script on your site? If you're manually implementing the script, check and make sure that there aren't any additional characters added to the end of the script. If you're running an optimization plugin, I also recommend removing the Journey and Grow script from any optimizations.

    Thanks Ryan for the fast response and sorry for the delay on my end.
    I tried to get this removed a few times during the weekend without success but I just found the root cause of defer attached to the end of the src attribute. 
    As soon as I removed that custom code, the ads started to appear so we can mark this as solved.
