RPM Significantly Dropped .
Hello,
I've had a significant RPM drop and it's not going up anymore. The RPM was good for a couple days when I joined Journey but now it's extremely low. My traffic is 100% US and is going up but revenue keeps going down. It's at least twice lower than what I was getting in Ezoic (same time this year, same traffic, same content).
I understand the summer RPM drop but $10 RPM in pet niche with 100% US traffic still is not justifiable.

Hi there! I'd be happy to take a look. What is the URL for your site? If you're not comfortable with posting that publicly, let me know so I can make sure to keep that hidden.

I would prefer to keep it hidden. Thanks

RPM is incredibly site-specific and there’s a ton that goes into it. Geographic location is just one factor, but there’s also how that traffic behaves, what post they’re on, how is it formatted, which device they’re from, how fast is the page, seasonality, and so on and so forth. It’s a Pandora’s Box of numbers!
But the brass tack is that RPM is just comparing your earnings to your traffic to give you an idea of how much you are earning per 1000 sessions. You can read more about that here.
The best thing to do is make sure your site is as optimized as possible and keep an eye on your impressions.

This is still going on. It's been a week since I am trying to get the URL to support with no luck.

Hey petniche - Yep! I went ahead and kept your URL private for you.
Looking at your 90 day view, I can see where you had a drop in Session RPM right at the start of July - which is to be expected for that time of year. You can read my post about July RPMs here.

It looks like you had a little bit of a grace period at the start of Q3/July and that drop looks more severe because June was a good month for your site and July 6th was a great day in particular. It looks like you've got Google Analytics on your site so I'd definitely recommend digging into your Analytics for that day to see where that traffic was coming from, what was trending, and how people were engaging to see if you can replicate that.
It does look like things are beginning to even out the further we get into Q3.

Moving away from RPM - your overall CPM looks good. Your page-level CPM is great. The one thing I did notice is that your Impressions per pageview was on the lower end. You CPM and Impressions are the building block for your earnings and as those numbers fluctuate - so will your RPM.
I'd recommend digging into how your readers are engaging with your posts and making sure you're as optimized as possible to get in those ad impressions where it counts. I'd recommend working on lengthening your content (Intentionally! I'm not saying throw in a bunch of filler) and encouraging your readers to scroll longer - allowing your ad slots to refresh and your readers engage further.
