Getting a "We're Having Trouble Seeing Your WordPress Installation"
AnsweredI recently applied to Journey and installed the Grow plugin, removed all my old Ezoic and adsense stuff, cleared my cache and did all the recommended troubleshooting things but I still cannot get it to connect and get the “we're having trouble seeing your wordpress installation” message. Originally I installed both the plugin for wordpress and the journey code and that didn't work and I removed the code and just used the plugin (clearing my cache in between) and it still will not connect. Any thoughts?

Hi Nicole. It looks like the Grow script on your site isn't quite matching the script in your Grow Publisher Portal, and this could explain why it's not being seen. It's possible there's some caching on the site, so you can try clearing out all the caching on both the site and server side. It's also possible that another plugin is optimizing the Grow script so that it's not displaying properly. We have a help article that should help you to make sure the script is excluded from optimizations.

Hi John, I have uninstalled Grow and reinstalled it and removed the code that was in the header and footer plugin and deleted that plugin, nothing. I uninstalled the Grow plugin and just did the code copied directly from my account and still nothing. I don't have any of the conflicts that I can tell on my site and I checked my Cloudflare and it doesn't seem to be the issue that I can tell. So, I'm kind of at a loss….

Hi John I've just been accepted by Journey, but I'd like to hold off on getting my ads set up by Journey, as I'd like to finalise a few things with the current ad network. The question is, is there a day limit for Jouney ad setup after being accepted?

Hi Nicole! I just took another look at the site, and it looks like the Grow script isn't in the pagesource at all. It's being served from inside of another script, which indicates that it's being optimized. It could be coming from Pagespeed Ninja or from another optimization plugin. If you're able to make sure that no other plugins are optimizing the script so that it appears in the pagesource matching the script in your publisher portal, that will hopefully get things working for you. Thanks!!

Hi Anwar! No, there is no expiration limit for the acceptance to Journey. So you should be just fine waiting to accept until you're ready.

I deactivated Pagespeed Ninja and copied the code into the Header and Footer plugin and it worked! Thank you!

Thanks for replying John that was helpful.
I have another question. Can Journey ads or Reguler Mediavine run on sub domains?0 -
Hey Anwar Safi'i - Great question! We have a discussion going about subdomains here. I'd recommend jumping into that thread if you have any additional questions regarding subdomains.
