Hi Jem! We can't say exactly what is causing this, although it could be a firewall or security setting that's preventing Grow from connecting.

We recommend trying all of the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the official comment here (including logging out of the plugin and trying to log back in). If that doesn't do the trick, you can try manually installing the ad script following these instructions and the ads.txt file following these instructions. Hopefully that will get you up and running!

Hi Rachel! I think I'm logged out of the Grow plugin now. Since I get the screen that I posted in the screenshot above (where there is still the “Connect or Creat Account” button). Is it okay if I uninstall, and re-install the Grow plugin? Or will this mess up with my Journey sign up/onboarding status?

Hi Jem! It's fine if you uninstall and re-install the plugin and this won't impact your onboarding status, but it might not make a difference as far as being able to connect. The troubleshooting steps I posted above are your best bet, but if they don't do the trick, manual installation is simple enough and should get you set up.

Ah I managed to install everything manually in the end! Indeed it's simple enough so that's nice :)

Now that I installed everything manually, is it okay if I just uninstall the “Grow for WP” plugin, just to keep things clean so it won't mess with site speed etc? Or is the plugin needed if I want the ads to show, and to use the Grow features?

I see that I also have some other Grow codes installed in the <head> section of my site. I think that one is probably the Grow script that I had to install before applying just to run Grow on my site. So I wonder if the plugin is still necessary if I already have the code installed in my <head>?

And just for completeness, I found the <head> section using the “Head and Footer Code” plugin!

    Thank you!

Hi Jem! Glad you got it up and running! You can remove the Grow plugin if you have the both the Grow and Journey scripts manually installed. It's not needed if these scripts are added manually.

Hi, I just got accepted to Journey. I copied my ad script and placed it in the Head section of my site. I'm not using WP. I've cleared my cache but I still am getting messages that it can't find my script. Any advice?

    Thanks

    Linda

Hi Linda Robison ! I checked your dashboard and it was able to find the ad script, so you should be able to continue the onboarding process now.

    Thanks!
