Margaret Clegg Jessie Bernhardt Debra Cummings -
Sorry for the delay here! We are still in discussion here, but I didn't want to dismiss this question all together and thought I could provide some reassurance.

What you see on your own site vs what your readers see are very different! As a site owner, you're typically on your site way more often than your readers. Advertisers stop paying a premium for the same reader in the same session after a certain point (typically that point is far beyond the number of pages a reader would encounter in a single session). The longer you're on your own site, you'll start to be served lower CPM ads because advertisers have effectively stoped competing to reach YOU - but they have not stoped competing to reach your readers. For instance, on Margaret's site I'm being served ads for Petsmart (where I frequently shop, and Expedia- as I've been looking to book travel lately).

I came to ask the same question!

I've also seen some low-quality ads, the “gross-out” kind with feet and bumpy skin close-ups, which I thought weren't going to be served on Journey. I have a food blog, so an ad with feet talking about toe fungus is very unappealing.

The ads I would like to filter out are not the “gross-out” kind, but ads that are not relevant to my site visitors and might actually turn them off.  Hasn't happened yet, since I just started, but somewhere down the line if there are certain ads I don't want to show it would be important for me to be able to block them.

When I was using Adsense I could block certain urls which was useful.

Journey is Self Supported

Our support staff is monitoring this forum everyday for bugs related to ad delivery, the display and functionality of the Journey dashboard, and any bugs related to the onboarding process. We are typically unable to assist with non-bug related issues like RPM performance expectations, issues setting up the ads.txt file, and questions already answered by our existing help docs. Read here for a more detailed breakdown of how Journey is self-supported and our recommendations for how to find answers to common issues.
