Whether this is your first venture into serving display and video advertising on your site, or you're a seasoned pro, striking the right balance between user experience, earnings, and advertiser demand is of the utmost importance.
With Journey’s smart ad targeting, years of research on which placements perform the best, and an overall focus on speed and user experience, our goal is to help you strike this perfect balance and earn the most with every ad you serve.
Ad Placements
In-Content Ads on desktop, tablet and mobile.
You’ll serve in-content ads placed based on Coalition for Better Ads (CBA) standards. With in-content ads that means that AT MOST you'll have a ratio of 70% content to 30% ads. We use a "2-paragraph" default for spacing. "Paragraphs" in this case are any HTML elements (think Heading, Image, Lists, and blocks of text) which means that in-content ads should be 2 elements apart.
Adhesion ads on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
These are the ad units that stick to the bottom of the screen. They have great viewability (meaning they stay in the reader’s view) without interrupting user experience.
Universal Video Player on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
This small, fast video player lets you capitalize on high CPMs without any video content!
Sticky Sidebar Ad on desktop.
This ad unit sticks to the bottom of the sidebar content and refreshes as the reader scrolls. This ad unit also has great viewability and high CPMs.
Recipe Card Ad in your recipe or how-to card.
Recipe card ads capitalize on the “Most Valuable Content” space on your site - the place where readers are likely to be the most engaged. Depending on the length of your recipe card content, this will mean approximately 2 recipe card ads on desktop and 3 on mobile. Longer instructions may have more.
Journey ads are lazy loaded AND deferred from the first screenview. These features of our ad tech are important for site speed, reader experience, viewability, AND earnings.
