I had to remove Google Site Kit completely, remove and choose a different plug in to add the ads.txt and now its fixed! Thanks so much!

I am having the exact same problem as EDITH above. I clear the sites cache, go through all of the steps to be told that I need to update my Grow Plug in (its on the latest) then it says I have ads ...
