Sticky ads & video ads overlapping my CSS fullscreen overlay - is z-index safe?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on handling ads with a custom fullscreen view. I run a utility site where users can switch to a fullscreen mode to focus on the tool. This isn't the native browser fullscreen, just a CSS overlay using 'position: fixed; inset: 0; z-index: 5000;' that covers the page.
Right now, the sticky bottom ads stay visible on top of my overlay. It's annoying for users trying to use the tool and gets in the way of the controls. I tested setting a max z-index (2147483647) on my fullscreen container, and it successfully covers the bottom sticky ads and even the corner video ads.
Is this z-index method okay to use with Journey policies? I want to make sure covering the ads like this won't get me in trouble.
I'm also planning to turn on event-driven ads in the future. Do you think this z-index trick will work for those too? I'm worried they might still show up on top of my fullscreen tool. I want to be sure this change won't block ads or hurt revenue on the normal main page view when users aren't using the fullscreen mode.
If using z-index isn't the right way to do this, is there another way to stop these ads from showing up just on the fullscreen overlay?
Really happy to be part of Journey now, thanks for any help!
