Ads are creating massive gaps (breaks) in content

Vertically thin ads are creating large gaps of white space in articles. The space is equal to about 3-4 of the banner ads in height. This is causing landing pages to be extremely long on mobile, creating a bad UX.

Is there something about my article templates or structure I can change to address this?
