Drop in RPM & Ad Impressions After Hosting Change – Third-Party Cookie & Console Errors
CompletedHi everyone,
Since changing my hosting provider, I’ve noticed a decline in my impressions per session and RPM, despite my page speed improving. After running a site audit, I found the following issues that might be affecting my ad performance:
-
Uses third-party cookies
-
Cookie Name:
grow_check_third_party_cookie_support -
Source:
app.grow.me - Chrome’s transition away from third-party cookies might be interfering with this, but I’m unsure how to fix it.
-
Cookie Name:
-
Browser errors logged to the console
-
Source:
growplow.events -
Error:
Failed to load resource: net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT - This error appears multiple times, and I’m concerned it could be blocking ad-related scripts.
-
Source:
I suspect something in my new hosting setup is contributing to these issues, but I’m not sure where to start troubleshooting. Has anyone else faced this after switching hosting providers? Any advice on fixing these errors and restoring ad performance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Sultan Daba ! These can safely be ignored. The first determines if a browser supports third party cookies - Grow will continue to check for them to ensure it's able to authenticate and monetize your traffic as effectively as possible, and this wouldn't impact performance or revenue.
The growplow.events are related to the analytics reporting being built for Grow to give more granular data on how Grow is performing on your site and how your readers use it. We don't have a release date for these reports just yet, but the Grow Engineering Team is hard at work on them.
So it's normal to see these on any site running Grow, but they would not have any impact on performance.
Thanks!

Got it, thanks for the clarification!
I understand that these can be ignored, but I’ve only started experiencing this issue since changing my hosting provider. Now, the first ad on my blog pages takes over 7 seconds to load, which wasn’t the case before. Could this be related to something in my new hosting setup, or is there anything I should check to improve the ad load time?
Would appreciate any insights—thanks!

Sultan Daba if this happened after switching hosts, then it is likely related to that. The cookie/console error will load on any site running Grow though, and they aren't what would be impacting performance. We would recommend asking your host for any recommendations if it's an issue with server response time or something else on their end.

Ok, thanks! I’ll reach out to my host and check if there’s anything on their end affecting the ad load time. Appreciate the help!
