Inaccurate number of sessions reported on dashboard
CompletedHi,
I was just accepted into Journey and began putting ads on my website about 3 days ago. So far, the reporting for sessions have been way off. It's only showing 1 session per day. How can I get a more accurate reading - or does that come with time?
Also, is there a way to choose ad placement on my website? I don't want ads within recipe cards, but I would like them on the home page. How can I manually choose the ad placement?
My website is thebitewithjackie.com
Thank you!

Hi Jacqueline Rafidi ! It looks like you're running two Grow scripts on the site and they're both being optimized by WP Rocket. This could be impacting reporting.
You'll want to remove one instance of the Grow script so only one Grow script is on the site, and also ensure the script is excluded from optimizations in WP Rocket following the instructions in this help article.
Journey doesn't currently offer custom or manual ad placement, but you can remove certain ad placements by using blocklist code, which is outlined in this help article. Just keep in mind that removing ad placements will impact revenue.
Thanks!

Thank you! I did remove the one instance of Grow and excluded the script in WP Rocket. I'm still not understanding why my dashboard is only showing 4 sessions after almost a week of having ads on my website.

Hi Jacqueline Rafidi - the Grow script is what tracks your analytics, so if there are issues with the Grow script, then your analytics won't be accurate. I'm still seeing two instances of the script when I look at your source code, which could be causing issues.

How do I remove one of the grow scripts?

Jacqueline Rafidi one script might be added by the Grow plugin and the other could be added manually through a script/code plugin, theme setting that allows scripts, or directly in a theme file. It's hard to say though by only looking at the source code. Your host should be able to help you find it since they have access to your site if you send them the code, which you can find under Grow Settings → Install Grow Script.

I think I got that figured out now! I've deleted one of the scripts. Should I start seeing an accurate number of sessions/earnings on my dashboard? I've had Grow/Journey running for almost a week - not sure if it takes some time to reflect true numbers.

Jacqueline Rafidi Your earnings are tracked by the ad server, so those numbers shouldn't have been impacted by the duplicate scripts. Your sessions should hopefully look more normal over the next few days though now that only one script is running. I'll also note that Grow analytics will be different from your GA4 analytics numbers - you can read more about that in this help article: Why Is Grow Analytics Reporting Different Than GA4?
You're paid through impressions though - not sessions. Your earnings and impressions are tracked separately by the ad server, and they're not based on analytics. This means that your earnings will still be accurate and unaffected by any analytic issues that may occur.
Thanks!
