Super Low RPM

Hi, I noticed that the RPM for my website is super low compared to what other people seem to be getting. I have just installed the ad script on my website. And the earnings and RPM earned are extremely low compared to another ad network I was using. 

Also, I get a lot of traffic to my homepage but I only see one small ad at the footer. I see very few ads on my site overall, a lot of the ads take very long to load, and there are also a lot of Grow ads. 

At this rate I am going, I am going to lose out on my year end crowd ad earnings I am afraid. At least on the ad network I was using before this, I was getting enough to cover some costs. 

Am I doing anything wrong? I have checked for plugin conflict issues and also tried my best to optimize the content. I know some of my blog posts are not very long but some content just dont need to be that long since I post so much. I do have other longer blog posts. 

I noticed that there's a termination period of 30 days? Can this be shortened for a small site like mine?

I am at a loss because I cannot step up traffic if my site is not optimized for ads.
