Squarespace editor and adds - conflict issues.
CompletedWe use (for better or worse) Squarespace for our travel blog and we have encountered an annoying issue. When we are in the Squarespace page editor (not live web pages) the Adverts from Journey load in and can stop the page working entirely - they will force the page to reload to a size that cannot be scrolled through, or load on top of the text box we are editing. They also do not appear to take no for an answer! We dismissed a bottom-screen-banner 7 times as it kept loading over the top of what we were working on.
The only way around this seems to be reloading the page and hoping the ads load in different places. Oddly, sometimes none of the above will happen, no adds will load in and the editor will work as normal. I would say the adds load in about 80% of the time and of that 50% of the time it causes issues.
It is definitely the Journey/Mediavine script that has caused this issue and definitely the adds from this that are loading.
We wouldn't mind the ads loading into the page, it may even be useful to see where they would go, but it is annoying when they stop us from editing our page.
In summary, Journey is loading adverts within the page editor, not just on live webpages. This causes issues within the Squarespace editor and can stop us being able to use it. Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround (other than reloading and hoping)?
I do not know if it is relevant but we are using the Squarespace editor on a Chrome browser on a MacBook.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Hi Adventures of Jellie ! There's unfortunately not a way to disable ads in the editor for Squarespace sites at the moment. One workaround though could be installing an ad blocker browser extension and enabling it when you're editing the site. You could also try to append ?test=killswitch to the end of the URL you're working on and then refresh the page (for example: yourdomainname.com/editor/?test=killswitch). This query will disable the ad script and should prevent ads from loading, but it might not always work depending on the URL structure of the editor.
Hopefully one of these solutions will do the trick!

I have a similar situation, when I use my Solo Build It (SBI) editor. However, I don't have the same concern.
Ads appear when I'm creating/working on a website page. When the url isn't yet live, or I'm previewing live pages I'm reworking.
The ads don't interfere with my page editing/creating. They don't bother me. But I don't want Mediavine's Journey to think I'm trying to cheat the system. So can I be reassured that isn't a problem?
Or let me know what I can do so ads don't appear on those types of website pages. If I need to. And if I do need to avoid ads while creating, the above suggestion will work for me? As it's a different site building system. Thank you.

Hi Karentmb ! Ads showing in the editor isn't an issue at all and is to be expected. So you shouldn't have anything to worry about here.

Support I am having this same issue in Squarespace editor, and it has gotten increasingly worse over the past week - almost to the point of having to refresh every few seconds while writing an article. Has there been any update in resolving this? ?test=killswitch is no longer working. Thanks for your help.

Hi Jonathan Stafford. If you're noticing that the issue is getting worse or that the querystring to remove ads isn't working, it's possible there's some browser caching at play in the browser that you're using for editing. I would recommend taking a look at that.
You can also check the Squarespace doc for another alternative here - you should be able to append
/safeto the end of the URL while editing in Squarespace to temporarily pause the injection of the script.0
