Too Many Ads (and Cookie Banner is Getting Covered Up)
AnsweredHello,
I have had Journey ads running on my site for several weeks now and I love this new program! Unfortunately, what I've noticed in my first several weeks is that the amount of ads is a bit overwhelming and has negatively impacted my user experience. Since implementing Journey ads, I have received comments from readers regarding the number of ads.
I went through one of my more popular posts and I counted 46 in-content ads. Essentially that's every 3 paragraphs (or every 5 to 6 sentences). I understand that Journey is still in the beta phase, but will there be features in the near future (or will the system learn) to control the density of ads?
Another issue that I'm having is that ads (banner and video) are covering up my cookie banner. I am using CookieYes and due to the ad placements at the bottom of the screen (especially on mobile but desktop too), users have a hard time Rejecting Cookies. The button is halfway covered by ads, so when a user goes to Reject, they might accidentally click the ad banner instead. Is there any fix for this?
Thank you very much in advance for your help!

Hi Allison,
There currently isn't a way to adjust the density of ads, but that functionality is something that's in development.
Regarding the CookieYes banner, the adhesion ad will always display at the bottom of the screen. So the best solution here would be to just move the location of the cookie banner elsewhere - to the top of the screen, for instance. There should be an option to do this in the plugin settings, so you can make that adjustment there. Thanks!!

Hey, John.
I'm having the same challenge as Allison when it comes to the frequency of ads. Is there an ETA on rolling out the development of being able to turn density down?

Hi Bethany Grodell ! We don't have an exact ETA, but our engineers are working on different ad density options and these settings should be available in the near future.

Following! I am having the same issue with WAY too many ads appearing on my page. My site speed has gone down tremendously and often times freezes up due to the ads. Users are frustrated by their experience on my site, as there are too many interruptions. Last, I have noticed ads in odd locations/places that just do not make sense and would love to be able to fix this.
Thank you.
