GA wants another cookie plugin?

I have my account all set up, and my discourse pops up just find, but I have this message in my GA today and I don't know what to do: 

Verify your consent settings for end users in the European Economic Area (EEA)

End users in the European Economic Area (EEA) must provide consent for their personal data to be shared with Google for advertising purposes.

To ensure there is no impact to your ads personalization and measurement, verify your consent settings for the Google tag and other data sources in Data streams. To implement consent signals, you can use a consent mode API or consent management platform.

    Hia Melissa Byron did you manage to get this figured out? I'm currently experiencing the same thing and it leaves me rather confused! Happy to help eachother out if needed!

    For me it was a setting i had about google ads. It had nothing to do with me needing a cookie plugin. It was a while ago so i dont remember any of the other details. sorry!
