Hi Beth - thanks for reaching out! I took a look at your site, and it looks like the conflicting ad code is an AdSense script being inserted by Site Kit. Here's what I see in the source code:

<!-- Google AdSense snippet added by Site Kit -->
    <script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-6182000012530736&amp;host=ca-host-pub-2644536267352236" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>
<!-- End Google AdSense snippet added by Site Kit -->

I would look in your Site Kit settings and make sure anything ad related is disabled. Once you disable it, clear all caching and hopefully that will do the trick. Sometimes if there's conflicting ad code, the notice about updating the plugin also pops up, so that should hopefully take care of that as well.

As for the logging out issue, it's possible your setup with a redirect to www is leading to an issue with the link from your onboarding and you're getting logged out. Changing the link to include the www prefix could potentially take care of this for you. If you wanted to try to use the plugin again, you could try logging in to your WP Admin, opening the onboarding in GPP in another tab or window, and using this link in the WP Admin browser: https://www.[yoursitename].com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=grow-journey-enable. You would just want to replace [yoursitename] with the actual site name.

As for the ads.txt file, I'm not currently seeing one on the site. When I go to https://www.bethannaverill.com/ads.txt, I get a 404 page. Your host should be able to help you manually install it in your root directory if you're still unable to get the plugin to work with the above instructions, and we have a guide on how to manually install the ads.txt file here.

    Hope this helps!

    Rachel,

Thank you so much! All of these steps worked great! Now when I go to ads.txt it has lots of words, not a 404 page, I was able to remove everything on Site Kit related to adsense (I never would have thought to look there!) and I was able to use the grow-journey-enable.

However, now when I go through the grow website, and click “finish journey setup” it says “error: Invalid Version"

Do you have advice for any next steps with this?

Thank you so much for helping me, I can't express how thankful I am!

Hi Beth! We talked with our engineers, and the “Invalid Version Error” issue should now be resolved and hopefully you'll be able to finish the onboarding process. Could you try again and let us know if you're still getting that error?

Thank you! I am no longer receiving this error! Thank you!

Although it is still saying there is conflicting ad code and I'm not sure how to fix that lingering error code.

Hi Beth! I'm still seeing the AdSense script from Site Kit on your site unless I manually bust the cache, so this is just a caching issue. If you clear all caching plugins, have your host clear your serverside cache, and clear your CDN cache if you use one (like Cloudflare), then that should do the trick.
