Trying to Manually ad the Ads Script - but it's showing "conflicting ad code running on your site"
CompletedHello,
So excited to get started with Journey! My name is Brittany and I blog at www.whiteandwoodgrain.com (wordpress blog). I do not have grow installed via the plugin / I had to install the script for grow manually because of an error between the plugin and woocommerce. So I was trying to install the ad script manually as well. I added it to my header, but it is showing the “conflicting ad code” error message.
I have removed all the ad code that I am aware of, and have reached out to Big Scoots for their help looking into the issue. They said to reach out to you to see if you had any more info about the issue? Or maybe if you are able to see why / where the conflicting ad code is.
I've checked the header area, as well as all the plugins I can think to look in. I've gone through what I can of the help article but still can't seem to find the existing ad code location.
Thanks in advance for any help! :-)

For anyone else who runs into the conflicting ad code message, here's an in-depth help article that goes over how to remove conflicting ad code from your site and where you typically can find the conflicting code. Please read over all of the troubleshooting steps and if you need assistance or can't find the code, reach out to your host or developer for assistance.

Hi Brittany! I took a look at your site, and I'm also not seeing any old ad code, so there could still be caching at play. I would clear out all caching plugins, your server side cache through BigScoots, and your CDN caches (i.e. Cloudflare or ExactDN). Then I would log out and back into Grow in an incognito window and try again. Just let us know if that does the trick!

Hi Rachel,
I just cleared the cache with Big Scoots, WP Rocket, and Cloudflare. I waited a bit, then re-logged into Grow in an incognito tab. The error still showed up. So I tried logging into Grow in a different browser. I was on Chrome so I tried AVG and it still showed the error. Is there anything else you would recommend trying?

Hi Brittany! Thanks for giving that a try. I talked with our engineers, and it turns out the old ad code being referenced is coming from AdThrive. It's specifically this dns prefetch in the <head> area of your site:
<link rel='dns-prefetch' href='//ads.adthrive.com' />
This could be manually inserted through a plugin or theme file. Once that's removed, you should be all set!

It's fixed! That must have been the issue. Thank you so much for sending this info my way!!
Now I did have to hire help to locate that piece of code and get it removed, but it's done and I'm officially through the onboarding process!If anyone else is struggling and scared to mess up things in the back-end of your site like I was … I highly recommend reaching out to Grayson Bell of https://www.imarkinteractive.com/ for tech support!
