Hi Chloe! Thanks so much for reaching out. I just took a look at the site and am seeing ads display on my end. It's normal that you would see less actual ads than a reader to your site since you're on the site more often than an average reader and may be out of premium impressions.

I did, though, notice that because you're using a pagebuilder on the site, some wrapping elements were keeping ads from displaying as well as they could have. I made an adjustment on our end that should get in-content ads displaying better.

When you have a chance, check out the site in an incognito window, and you should see more ads displaying.

Regarding the carousel, this is actually a Grow feature that you can setup in your Grow Publisher Portal. You can find more on how to do that here. Thanks!!

    Hi John -

Thanks for the quick response. I tried to view the site in Incognito (Chrome), so I now see ads on desktop, although I still only see Grow ads. Also, I don't see the header carousel on desktop in incognito after activating it.

So I tried on another browser (Safari) on desktop. Strangely, now I see one airline ad on the sidebar widget, and the rest are still Grow ads. I still don't see the header carousel.

Do you see the changes on your end? What else can I do to check the updates from my end?

    Thank you,

    Chloe

    Hi Chloe,

Thanks so much for getting back to us. I just checked on the site, and it looks like the header carousel just needed a selector chosen in the settings so that the Grow script knew where to put it. I went ahead and added this for you, and you should now be seeing it displaying on desktop. You can make further adjustments in you Grow Publisher Portal.

I'm also seeing ads display well on my end, and I'm also seeing that they're earning for you. So you should be all set. Seeing the Grow placeholders on your end isn't uncommon given the nature of programmatic advertising. One additional thing you can do to check on the ad placements is to append ?test=testAds to the end of a URL. This will signal our script to run placeholder ads where ads will display and should give you an idea of what things will look like for readers.

If we can answer any additional questions, just let us know. Thanks!!

    Hi John -

Per your suggestion, I tested out the website for ads placements (also on incognito). Now it shows the header carousel and sidebar ads. But I still only see Grow ads in the body. I will leave it alone for now and assume it works fine. I will circle back later to check how it works when the monthly report comes out. Thank you for your help!

Just to add to what Chloe mentioned, I am also seeing Grow ads. I am not sure if this is a teething issue, as the ads have only been live for the past 48 hours. I wonder if it takes time for all ads to load correctly and if the Grow ads are just placeholders in the interim.

Hello all! These placeholder ads are typically more common right after launching, but this isn't anything to worry about and is to be expected. Also, as the site owner, you're going to get more of these Grow placeholder ads in general because you're on the site more often than your readers and run out of premium impressions faster. This is totally normal though, and can even happen in an incognito window, but it doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong or something isn't working correctly.
