We Can't Seem to Find Your Ads Script
AnsweredHi,
I keep getting the ‘we can’t seem to find your ads script' error.
Everything goes smoothly, the enable button works, then it goes to Journey successfully enabled, then when I get to the next page I press ‘I’ve enabled the script' and the error shows up again and again.
I've cleared the caches on my blog and through my server, BigScoots, who also went through the troubleshooting checklist for me and said that none of those issues listed were stopping the ads from reaching my site.
What should I do now? My Grow plugin is updated and working just fine. I've also tried right-clicking the enable button and copying/pasting the link and going through the process that way, and it still doesn't work.
I am at a total loss.
Thanks so much, so excited to be here!

Hi Lyn - thanks for writing in! It looks like we're running into some sort of Cloudflare firewall or security setting. Could you have BigScoots disable any firewalls or security settings in Cloudflare, clear all caching, and then let us know if that does the trick?
If they're able to narrow it down to a specific setting in Cloudflare, it would be great to let us know what that setting is so we can keep it in mind in the future.
Thank you!

Thanks Rachel!
This is what Justin from BigScoots said ‘Got it, yes thank you, that is helpful and makes sense now. I have whitelisted their MediavineMetadataParser user agent which was being blocked due to the increased bot protection, so you should now be able to verify!’
I did get through, but am also getting the privacy policy error and still do not see any ads running on my blog yet.

Hi Lyn,
Glad they were able to figure that out and thanks for passing along that information!
Ads won't be enabled until you finish the onboarding steps. For the privacy policy, if you put in https://site.com/privacy-policy, but the url on your site has a slash at the end like https://site.com/privacy-policy/ , then that means you'll encounter this error. We're going to adjust our logic to be a little more lenient about those slashes at the end, but in the meantime, I'd recommend looking at what you have added in the privacy policy link setting and making sure it matches exactly how the url looks on your site.
If you still encounter that error even after making the adjustment, just mention what site you're experiencing this issue on and we'll look into it a little further.0 -
Hi Rachel,
When I logged back in to figure out the privacy policy issue it was somehow fixed! So many thanks if you did anything to help that along.
I am all set up now! 😊

I'm getting the same error We're Having Trouble Seeing Your Script.
I've run through the troubleshooting. Wix site. Help! TIA

Hi Beth Gracie ! Unfortunately, Wix isn't compatible with Journey because ads don't load properly on Wix. You can read a bit more about this in this article under the “Wix” heading. If you ever switch away from Wix though, you can run Journey ads in the future!

Hi, I am having trouble with completing onboarding, I am also getting the message “we can't seem to find your ads script”. I have a WordPress site through BlueHost. I have done the troubleshooting - installed the script, cleared my cache, I don't have any optimization plugins (I went through the list and then looked up several others and I don't have any of those installed) and I am stuck at steps 4 and 5 because I don't know how to ascertain if either of those are the issue.
Help!!

Kristi Garris You have Google Adsense code on your site, which looks like the below:
<script type="text/javascript" async="async" src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8788760783007699&host=ca-host-pub-2644536267352236" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>
I'm not sure where it's coming from, but it will need to be removed and all caches cleared before continuing onboarding. Your host should be able to help you remove the script if you have issues finding it.

Okay, I will give that a shot, thanks so much!

Hi I am back, I contacted my host and they advised it's an issue for a web developer. I refreshed my website and noticed there are no empty boxes now and no ads running at all that I can see, so I went back to the onboarding page and selected “I've enabled the script” and now I am getting this message:
We found conflicting ad code running on your site. Launching ads with Journey requires you to remove code from any previous programmatic ad partners. If you are bound by an agreement with another ad provider, stop here. See this Help article for more information on exclusivity requirements.
So are you still seeing the script message?

Kristi Garris the ads might not be visible on the site, but the AdSense script is still there. Typically a host can help with removing unused code, but if they're saying they're unable to, you may need to speak with a developer or your theme's support team. It looks like the AdSense script is located in the same place as several other scripts (including your Journey script and Google Analytics script) below the <footer> section of your site, but that's as much as we're able to deduce from looking at the source code.

I was able to remove it by toggling something in Site Kit, whoo hoo! I am all set and completed with onboarding, thank you so much!!

Same Issue; keep getting the ‘we can’t seem to find your ads script' error.
Everything goes smoothly, the enable button works, then it goes to Journey successfully enabled, then when I get to the next page I press ‘I’ve enabled the script' and the error shows up again and again.
I've cleared the caches on my blog and through my server, Hostinger, who also went through the troubleshooting checklist for me and said that none of those issues listed were stopping the ads from reaching my site.
What should I do now? My Grow plugin is updated and working just fine. I've also tried right-clicking the enable button and copying/pasting the link and going through the process that way, and it still doesn't work.
I am at a total loss.

Sarfaraz Ahamed It looks like you have Google Adsense code running in the <head> area of your site, which is why you're getting this error message. This is what the script looks like:
<script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4101577826633736"crossorigin="anonymous"></script>This will need to be removed and all caches cleared. Then you should be all set! If you need help removing it, we recommend reaching out to your host or developer since they'll have easy access to your site.
